shaped bokeh

I needed a new picture for the top of my blog to go along with the Christmas theme. I was originally thinking of doing some type of macro shot with ornaments, but since we haven't pulled out any decorations yet I didn't feel like dealing with it. I recently read a tutorial on shaped bokeh and decided to give it a try. It's amazing what you can do with a string of lights and black construction paper! I played around with different colors and a failed attempt at a snowflake shape until I finally thought to shape the lights into a tree. I quite like the effect!

4 thanks for stopping by, i love comments!:

Very cool! I think the gold & red stars together is my fave :)

That is really cool! I actually like the snowflakes, but I think the gold stars alone are my fave.
