Ben's birthday bash
Wow, it's hard to believe this was only a little over 2 weeks ago. With all that we've gone through and have had to deal with since then it feels like a lifetime ago. So be prepared to be overloaded with pictures from a happy day, I know I could use the reminder.
As requested, his chocolate cake with lots of sprinkles made by mommy.
Make a wish!
Caught stealing the candies off the cake,
trying to look sweet and innocent about it.
Opening gifts
I'll spare you the bazillion repetitive photos of gift time. He scored quite the loot...swords, monster trucks, fishing pole, Optimus Prime helmet, a bicycle, just to name a few.
Whenever we asked Ben what he wanted for his birthday his immediate response was a red bike. He was pretty adamant that it had to be a red bike because they go super duper schmuper fast. We had a friend that had handed down a blue bike to us that we were going to fix up for him so we tried to sway him on the color. Tim would come home from work and very animatedly tell Ben a story about he saw the fastest bike ever going down the road and it was blue......Ben's response was to ask his daddy if he saw a red one behind it. Fortunately for Ben, or maybe for us, it ended up costing more to replace the needed parts than to buy a new one. So he got his wish, a shiny red bike.
His first look at his new bike.
Checking out his name plate.
Birthday boy, roll out!
After the party was over Ben and daddy went out to spin their wheels on the road. Ben was a bit nervous at first, but he got the hang of it quickly.
Look at those legs, such a boy full of scrapes and bruises.
The next day, on Ben's actual birthday, we had a special mommy and Ben date to go see Transformers 2:Revenge of the Fallen. First we stopped at The Varsity for a naked dog and a PC. For those non-Georgia natives, The Varsity is the place to go for a hot dog. A naked dog is a plain hot dog and a PC is a plain chocolate milk served over crushed ice, yummy!
We went to an Imax showing of the movie. The screen was so big I had to move us to the back of the theatre in order to see it all. Ben LOVED the movie, and I'll admit so did I. Here he is completely enthralled (please excuse the dark and graininess, I didn't think our fellow movie goers would appreciate my flash firing).
Us being cheesy in the bathroom mirror after the show, too bad it turned out so blurry.
We finished the day with school clothes shopping and me getting suckered into buying him yet another toy. How can you say no to that sweet face?
Happy birthday my precious boy!
1 thanks for stopping by, i love comments!:
