christmas all wrapped up
Another Christmas, come and gone. This year was truly delightful. Ben was so excited and totally caught up in the magic of the season....Alex was so excited that there were more temptations than usual for mischief with all of the decorations around the house.
Christmas Eve night Ben left cookies for Santa and carrot sticks for his reindeer along with a beautiful picture he drew. I had to convince him that we didn't need to leave the entire bag of carrots, that one carrot chopped into 8 sticks would be just fine.
The first thing he did when he got up after doing a quick survey of the gifts under the tree was to check if Santa had eaten his cookies. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the look on his face when he discovered that Santa had not only eaten his goodies, but he'd left a thank you note!
Here's the loot before the chaos was unleashed and paper was shredded in every direction (I should have straightened and righted the pictures hanging on the wall first, huh?)
One of the stockings I made. As long as you don't closely inspect the crooked stitching, I think it turned out pretty cute. I was inspired by stockings I had seen in the Pottery Barn catalog for $30. Since I used all materials from what I already had on hand, it didn't cost a dime.
Some of their favorite gifts...
And what made the morning that started at 5:15 tolerable, mimosas and pigs in a blanket....our tradition :)
I hope your holiday was just as nice!
2 thanks for stopping by, i love comments!:
You captured you Christmas just beautifully! Happy New Year to you and your family!
Dangit, I forgot to look at the stockings when we came up! I doubt the stitching is as bad as you say because they look FaNtAsTiC in the pics!
