loving the weather

I can't decide if this past summer was hotter than normal or I am just getting older and can't tolerate the heat as well anymore. I'm going with hotter than usual since even the boys didn't really have much interest in going outside to play in the middle of the day. Now that Fall is approaching so are cooler temperatures. This week has been perfect in the 70 degree range.

Yesterday we enjoyed dragging our bikes out to ride up and down the road. Ben has become quite facinated with the very large hill coming towards our house.

We won't discuss how much of a nervous nelly I get watching him flying down at top speed and in total oblivion to the noise of oncoming cars. I'm trying to let go. Really.

I also won't discuss how Alex has to ride in the road too because Ben does and so by now my nerves are really fried.



Once Ben discovered he was about to have a rear tire blowout from doing too many skids in the driveway he switched over to his roller skates.



I am still on the lookout for a pair of skates for myself. I remember having so much fun on them when I was younger. Although, this may be one of those things I can't tolerate any longer with age too.

The day ended with a gorgeous sunset and the promise of many more beautiful Fall days. I can't wait!
