The art of trick or treating according to Ben

Well, I'm still here....so the hopes of inducing labor while walking the neighborhood failed. I am very happy that we made it through the night though. Ben had a blast! He looked so cute in his costume!

He didn't much care for the make-up at first and asked to wash it off. But once we got going and he realized he got candy, he forgot all about it. It was pretty funny though....at first he acted like his face was frozen and wouldn't even attempt a smile, lol. BTW, it is extremely difficult to paint a 3yo's face!!

Ben caught on quick to the concept of TOT'ing. Here he is at the first house....

He learned real quick that the longer you stand there and say TOT the more candy they put in your bag!

Here is Ben and Tate rushing to the next house...

They were so cute asking at each house "can we go to this one?". Tate would immediately eat his candy as soon as he received it (I think he went home with an empty bucket, lol) while Ben didn't eat one piece until we got home. Then he proceeded to dump his bag out and eat at least half of his loot within minutes....

Ben did help pass out out candy for the rest of the evening. Although he only gave one piece per person. It was real funny though, he was very concentrated on eating his candy and would quickly drop the candy in the other TOT'ers bags and get back to business. That is until a couple of cute girls dressed as cheerleaders came by. When he looked up and saw them he gave a big 'ole candy coated grin. That's my boy!

The funniest story of the night was Tate. At each house he would declare to the homeowners that he dressed as a ninja.....and Ben was a black man. We're not real sure where he got that from, and hopefully nobody took offense, but it was hysterical! Tate's mom says he doesn't even know what that means, lol. We never did convince him that Ben was a skeleton.

Overall it was great night! I am pretty sore from the walking, but no real contractions yet. I go to a midwife appt this afternoon. Hopefully there will at least have been some progress made.

2 thanks for stopping by, i love comments!:

OMGosh! His costume is so freakin cute!!! I can't believe you did that!!! I had no clue how you were going to sew on the bones! Was it really hard? He is so cute, and Tate's story of the night is too funny. Of course he would say Ben is a black man. I wish it had sent you into labor, but maybe this weekend? Plus you need time to scrap Halloween pics because once Alex gets here you will have no time :)
