project 365/11 ~ you sank my battleship!

Ben brought home this original Battleship game from a visit with grandpa. He loves to play it! Either with a opponent or by himself playing pretend wars. Tim and I both remember doing this as children. Such fun!

I took this photo last night with the self timer as we played a game by the fire. I was trying to capture the mood so I didn't want to use the flash. I had to pump my ISO to 1600 (as high as my Rebel will allow) and drop my shutter speed to 1/25, hence the blur and the grain. Some days I am so unhappy with my camera, it is hard to keep in perspective the importance of capturing the moment instead of the technicalities of the image. I am trying though....otherwise I would never have dreamed of posting such a 'techincally' awful photo.
